  • Connector Valve for recharging Window Unit

I would like to know where you get a saddle type valve or some connector so you can recharge a sealed home unit that has no fittings. Many years ago I recharged a freezer refrigerator easily because I somewhere, I don't know where, got a valve that connected and pierced the tubing and had the fitting on it and I just charged the refrig with a couple cans of freon. I have my EPA certification so I know I am not going to have any problem getting freon. I just replaced a compressor in a 12000 btu unit and would like to purge the system and recharge it with R22 and oil. Any help appreciated.

Any HVAC supply house has them. Try Johnstone Supply.
Ask for a line tap valve

You should be able to buy saddle tap fittings across the counter in any local HVAC or appliance parts store.

          WATSCO makes a 3in 1 fitting that will fit 1/4, 5/16 & 3/8 lines and a 2 in 1 fitting that will fit 1/2 & 3/4 lines.
