  • Forced Air Furnace won't turn on...no heat!!

Forced air furnace won't turn on..? Model 50A50-216.

On a White-Rodgers Emerson Electric Company Unit inside furnace, the Diagnostic Indicator has 3 red flashes = Pressure Switch Stuck Open.

Any idea what i can do to see what is wrong or to remedy this problem?

Thermostat is turned on, power is on...tehre is a gas valve between furnace and heater. What position should that be on? How do i know if its on or off?

I'm not sure if there is a pilot light on this unit...if there is, I can't seem to locate it. I sthere a way to know if there should be a pilot light?

Somewhere on your furnace, usually on the inside of the service cover panel there should be both a wiring schematic and a component layout chart.

If your furnace has a pilot, there will also be complete instructions on how to light the pilot.

It would be very difficult to offer any general advice as there are numerous methods and components that vary greatly from one furnace to another and all require a thorough knowledge of the system to make the finite adjustments or to be able to insure that the safety components are working properly. Due to the potenial for fire or asphyxiation Gas and oil burner repair is best left to trained technicians that have the proper diagnostic tools.
