I would look into ease of obtaining servicing, ease at getting repair parts, extent of warranty. check into using environmentally friendly R-134a. R-22 and R-12 is getting increasingly hard to come by.

The recent discovery that R-134a contributes to global warming has caused the European Union to ban its use on new cars starting from year 2011. Other countries are expected to follow suit. later Paul
