All seems good now--howl gone--

After putting the heater back together and winding some wire together at the flame rod all is working very smoothly(knock on wood) I think the howl was caused by the mat that I constructed. It was quite different than thestock one I purchased. I want to thank all who helped me with the ideas and encouragment I recieved, Tom
