  • M22, M422 combustion ring

As can be seen there is an overlap of the top piece of the combustion ring. This overlap is directly in the flame and gets very hot. After many cycles of heating and cooling the overlap distorts and bends into the space between the pot and the ring. This causes the flame sensor to either be sooted or come in contact with the ring and will cause the stove to stop running.

An application of burner mat cement around the overlap will cause the flame to be deflected upward past the overlap. This will extend the life of the burner ring. It is necessary to drill a hole in the top of the ring to keep the pressure from building up and warping the ring. Burner mat cement can stand very hot flame without eroding away and will last a number of years.
