material for making a burner mat / cloth for Monitor 40

    Hello,

Does anybody know where to get cloth material to fabricate my own burner cloth mat instead of buying a pre-cut one from Toyotomi?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks !!

      Thanks for the info HayZee,

There seems to be some products but I'm not sure what options are viable:

would you please take a look at the website and let me know if you have any specific suggestions?

maybe the "Very High Temperature Machinable High-Alumina Ceramic"? doesn't it need to look like a mesh?

        Burner Mat Material

Two years ago when I replaced the burn mat in my Monitor 422 I used silica cloth for the new burn mat. McMaster-Carr product number 8799K3. I also used Rutland 77 stove cement for gluing it to the bottom of the pot.

          You rock !
          Excellent, thank you very much.

Do you have any recommendations for the material to make the round large gaskets for the heat chamber?

I used McMaster-Carr product number 9323K21. This material is thinner than the original Monitor gasket material and may need to be doubled on some applications, but it's a much stronger material than the original Monitor gaskets.
