I have been doing some research on possible things I would have to replace in a house that I may be buying. The house has a rather small central air unit that sits outside I'm not sure if it works or not? The house is probably some where around 1500-1800 sq ft. I'm wondering what a good AC unit that would cool this area nicely would cost? I'm trying to build a budget for repairs and upgrades to the place

ask questions of the realtor or bank. all these questions you got, we can't answer these questions with any accuracy without knowing more about the stuff. leaky roofs, faulty framing, faulty wiring, water in the cellar, cracked basement walls, bowed in cellar walls are all issues that the building department should know about as these detract from the house's value.

I didn't ask about any of those things I just asked how much an AC unit costs. Nevermind.... I'll go somewhere else wow.
