WeatherMaker not working when it gets colder

WeatherMaker 8000 (58WAV). Sometimes when it is extremely cold outside, the furnace will not stay lit. Thermostat calls for heat, the inducer motor starts, then ignitor gets hot and burners ignite but only for a few seconds and shutdown. This cycle continues for awhile. After the furnace cools off a little it works fine for awhile and starts all over again. Problem started earlier this winter with the fan set to AUTO but never had problem with the fan set to ON. It seems to be an overtemp problem in the furnace, doesn't it? Any ideas/help?

The flame sensor needed cleaning. Just sanded it lightly and reinstalled it. Everything is working fine now.
