I just bought a 70 year old house for my mother in law. It has no central heat or radiators or baseboards or anything. It has gas lines for space heaters but I'm afraid of an accident. How do I provide some in expensive heat for her? we live in Texas and it's only cold occasionally during the winter. I've looked at electric baseboards, infrared heaters on wheels, etc. If anyone has some experience with this issue I'd appreciate a heads-up and some info. Thanks

I'd stay away from baseboard heat. Infrared heat is good. Those oil filled radiant heaters are also good. Natural gas is inexpensive I believe even for Texas so it wouldn't hurt to look into a space heater, but a licensed gas plumber would be needed.
