  • blower motor problem?

I have a carrier furnace , couple days ago noticed the motor seemed like it was not running at full speed and sounds like a small hum to it. Took the motor out and cleaned it up but did not take it apart. Had an extra run capacitor so I swapped it out from the old one. After putting everything back together it runs still has a noticeable hum and the speed just does not seem as fast as it should be. Checked registers seems like a decent flow but still not okay. Bad motor or circuit board or something else ? Any help would be appreciated . Also after letting the motor run for a few minutes felt it and it was not hot.

if you have a clamp around ammeter, clamp the meter around one motor lead, start the motor and read the amps directly. now look at the motor nameplate data. see how close it comes to the run value. if it is close then the motor is ok. if its slightly elevated, the bearings may be getting dry. small motors use oil-lite bearings - also called porous sintered bronze bearings. any light machine oil will do.
