One problem after another with my carrier. After almost fixing a transformer and fan problem, I realized that my unit seems to be stuck on heat mode as the compressor/fan run ok but are blowing off cool air outside and sending hot freon inside.
As best I can tell, the ORANGE wire is supposed to be at 24v to engage the valve for cooling. While looking for shorts, I may have inadvertently had the reversing valve solenoid unplugged, etc. At any rate, right now I can never seem to read any voltage on the orange wire (orange to red). It seems this may mean the solenoid or the defrost control board (on outside unit) has gone bad. It's kinda strange since it was working up until I had the transformer trouble.
I guess at this point I need to be able to determine if it's the control board, the solenoid, or something else. Also, I can't seem to find the solenoid for sale anywhere online
