  • Replace Steam Radiator with Other Option

I have a bedroom in my 1930's house that is very small. At the mid-point of the longest wall, under the window, is a steam radiator.
With that radiator in place I cannot put a twin bed in the room, which I need to do.
I would like to remove the radiator and replace it with another heating solution. But, I don't know what the best solution is. The room is small, approx. 8'x10'. It is also a very cold room. It sits above the front hall closet that is in an unheated part of the house.
I've considered having the radiator removed, and just putting in an electric baseboard heater. Just not sure that is the best permanent solution. Also, its a child's room so I don't love the idea.
I would be hiring a professional to remove the radiator, I will not be undertaking anything that I don't think I could handle.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
