Monitor 422

New poster here, and I'm being lazy. I have the smaller Monitor, the 422. After we lost the ground coming to our house last winter, I found the 2 amp fuse blown. I thought that perhaps that was the result of the ground wire. After repairing the wiring to the house, I have repeatedly changed the fuse and it shorts out instantly. I was persistent, but am now out of fuses. And now out of ideas.

If there is a tech out there, do you have any ideas?

If there are those out there with this heater, have you experienced this situation? What was your solution?

Losing the ground is not a good idea. Chances are the main board is blown or at least the power transformer if the control fuse keeps on blowing.

The rest of the story

I sent the board out to be repaired, as a new one is over 400 dollars. I would have thought that the transformer would have been replaced. I am also wondering if some or all of the components attached to the board are shorted. I was being lazy, as I said. Sometimes machines have "idiosycracies", and more experienced people can say with almost certainty that a certain component is at fault. If it is the trans, I'm disappointed in the repair facility. It doesn't look like they replaced that component.

Any ideas?

2 Amp fuse

The 2A fuse also powers both blowers, the solenoid damper, and the pump. Try pulling their leads off the PWB and then powering up with a new fuse. If one of them got 220V when your neutral came off, it could be shorted.

I'll do that today, and see what happens. Do you know a source for replacement parts, should any of these be damaged? Online ordering would be best for me. I'm not too close to anywhere.
