I just received a notice from the regional distributor that the Laser 30 circulating fan motor is no longer available from the manufacturer. This is another heads up that Laser 30 is on the way out.
Laser 30 owners are not completely out when it comes to the circulating fan motor, as the motor for Laser 300 is the same motor except for the connector. Rewiring the motor with a Laser 30 connector will keep you going.
The big picture here is the Laser 30 is coming to the end of it’s life. A combustion chamber rebuild is getting expensive and is only a stop gap measure in curing a smelly heater.
The new Laser 300 series heater is a solid unit and no longer has a multi piece heat chamber that has caused so much trouble. When replacing the older Laser 30 with the new Laser 300 you will need to do some plumbing of the fuel line. The outlet piping for the L300 is on the other side of the heater in comparison to the Laser 30. This is a simple repair. A black iron 3/8 90 degree elbow and two 3/8 brass threaded to flared nipples will get the job done.
